更紗満天星の家

現場も終盤に入り週単位で状況が変わっていきます。スタディを重ねてきたご夫妻の目には一ヶ月後の完成の姿、空間イメージが鮮明に描けているようです。
一足早く寝室やリビングの大きな壁を飾る写真やポスターなどを求められました。建築空間にアートウォールが生まれます。

右上は60年代にパリの画廊で行われた、当時パリのカルチャーに影響を与え初めていたアフリカのアートの展示会のもの。
左下は60年代ニューヨークでのチャドウイッックの展覧会のもの。両方ともオリジナルのものです。
残りの絵は無名ですが、ニューヨークに住んでいたイタリアのアーティストのオリジナルスケッチです。

玄関入って右側壁です。版画絵の元となるwood blockです。イタリア人の作品です。

リビング東側の壁に設置します。
上の写真は、内容不明ですが、スクリーンプリントという技術を使っていて、60年代のオリジナルもの。下の写真は、60年代にパリにある画廊で行われたアーティストを集めた展覧会のもの。ようやく認められ始めたピカソ、ミロのほか、まだ無名だったカンデンスキーなど、現代ではあり得ないメンバーが同時に集められた時のポスターです。

They asked for pictures, posters, etc. that decorate the bedroom and the large wall of the living room quickly. An art wall is born in the architectural space.

道路側となる北面は軒の出のないデザインです。屋根材にも使うガルバリウム鋼板を纏い、冬の八ヶ岳からの風雪にも耐える装いです。一方南側はウエスタンレッドシダーの板壁。塗装をせずに経年での色の変化を楽しみます。ストーブが設置され足場が外れる来週が待ち遠しいです。

The north side of the road side is a design without eaves. It is a galvalume steel plate that is also used for roofing materials, and it is a dress that can withstand wind and snow from Yatsugatake in winter. On the other hand, the southern side is the plate wall of Western Red Cedar. We enjoy the change of color with aging without painting. We can not wait for the next week when the stove is installed and the scaffold is out.

標高1,700メートルの更紗満点星の家ではモルタル蓄熱層に温水（不凍液）を循環させる床暖房を採用しました。朝夕に数時間温水を循環させ熱を蓄え時間をかけて放熱していく方式です。薪ストーブがメイン暖房になりますので留守の間の凍結防止や滞在時のベースとなる暖かさをつくることがその役割です。

温水循環の系統を分けること、タイマー運転することで山荘の利用状況や暮らしぶりに合わせた運用がしやすいと言えるでしょうか。

In the house of sarasadoudan tutuji at an altitude of 1,700 m, it is floor heating which circulates hot water (antifreeze) in the thermal layer of mortar. It circulates warm water for several hours in the morning and evening, stores heat, and it takes time to dissipate heat. Here the wood stove is the main heating. Floor heating is a function of preventing freezing during absence and making warmth as the base when staying.

By separating the heating system and operating the timer, it is easier to operate according to the lifestyle.

夏の１ヶ月の工事自粛期間が明けて現場再開です。木工事も終盤。無塗装のウエスタンレッドシダーの外壁もいい味わいを出しています。「米杉」と呼ばれていますが日本のネズコと同属のヒノキの仲間です。


内部は電気工事を進める傍、床暖房（床に40ミリのモルタル蓄熱槽を設けて温水を循環させるポリプロビデンパイプを敷設する暖房方式）工事の準備をしています。床暖房には色々な方式があり、熱容量の大きい材料を用い蓄熱層を設けることがこの方式のポイントです。

別荘や二地域居住の場合にはエリアの気候条件を検討した上で利用頻度や暮らし方について対話を重ねて暖房方式を決定しています。将来的に対応できる余地を残しながら過剰設備にしないことがポイントです。

Construction restraint in summer has come to a close and construction restarts. Wood construction is also in the final stage. The exterior wall of unpainted western red cedar also gives a good taste.
It is a kind of hinoki, although it is called "rice cedar". We are preparing for floor heating work while proceeding with electric construction. There are various methods for floor heating, and the point of this method is to provide a heat storage tank using a material with large heat capacity.
Heating will be determined by considering the climatic conditions of the area, considering the frequency of use and the way of living.
It is important not to overfill while leaving room to respond in the future.

２週間ぶりにご夫妻に現地視察に来ていただきました。造作キッチンの打合せのため奥様自ら鍋や家電などキッチンまわりの小物などを絵にしてくれました。置く場所や使い勝手など確認しながらこちらを元に加藤が図面を起こします。



照明器具やファニチャー類も固まりつつありイメージボードもブラッシュアップされています。

The owner couple came to visit the site for the first time in two weeks. The wife painted small objects such as pots and home electric appliances around the kitchen for a meeting of the feature kitchen. Mr.Kato will make a drawing based on this while checking where to place and usability. Lighting equipment and furniture are also added, and the image board is also being brushed up.

跳ね出しテラスへと続く見せ場となる大きな開口部。ここに収まる木製サッシが現場に搬入されました。
200キロを超える大物。坂本さん（電気）、小椋（板金）も応援に来てくれています。



無事に定位置に収まりました。　みなさんお疲れさまでした！

A bigger than 200 kg. Mr. Sakamoto (electricity), Mr.Ogura (sheet metal) also came to cheer us.

今日は上棟式です。
昨夜の雨で木々が艶やかでイキイキとし、白い雲と青空が広がっています。
オーナーご夫妻、森作大工と共に御神酒とお米とお塩を家の四隅にまいて、土地を鎮め、地の神様にこれからもよろしくお願いしますとご挨拶します。

それにしても、なんて涼しい！
32度の東京から向かった私には、20度の更紗満天星の家は、もう天国のよう。快適です！

The owner 's couple and Morisaku carpenter sow the saki, rice and salt in the four corners of the house, calm the land, We would like to continue to ask the God of the land for your continued support.

Even so, how cool it is!
Here, it is 20 degrees. It is like heaven for me who headed from Tokyo at 32 degrees. It is comfortable!

八ヶ岳の西麓、茅野にあるアイランドプロファイルの工場を加藤が訪ねました。来月納品予定の木製サッシの製作状況の確認です。


材は米松を使用しており手作業で丁寧に組み立てや塗装を行います。「Spiritual Retreat」のためのキャビン。メイン空間を演出する重要なアイテムです。お気に入りのビンテージ家具との相性も抜群です。

Mr.Kato visited the island profile factory located in Chino on the western foot of Yatsugatake. It is confirmation of the production status of the wooden sash scheduled to be delivered next month.
We use pine wood, we carefully assemble and paint by hand. Cabin for 'Spiritual Retreat'. It is an important item to produce the main space. Compatibility with favorite vintage furniture is outstanding.

屋根の野地合板が張られてリビング空間が見えてきました。オーナーは出張続きのハードなお仕事をされています。自然の中でいいリセットになるのでしょう。週末の現場視察を楽しみにされています。

オーナーの建築への熱と想いが現場にも伝播していくものです。森作大工らの木工事も本格的にはじまっています。

The plywood of the roof was stretched and the living space was visible. The owner is doing hard work continuing on business trip. For the owner, it will be a nice reset. They are looking forward to on-site inspections on weekends.

The fever and thought of the owner's architecture will also propagate to the site. Wood works are beginning in full swing.

梅雨時期で天候がなかなか読めない中でしたが抜けるような青空のもと無事に上棟です。「Spiritual Retreat Cabin」は2次元から３次元に姿を変えています。
加藤と中村がリビング空間で何やら話をしています。これから出来あがっていく空間を見てディテールの検討でもしているでしょうか。

上棟のこの日ご夫妻はお二人とも海外でしたがメールやスカイプなどのお陰でリアルタイムで現場の進捗も感じていただけます。距離を感じさせずその興奮がこちらにも伝わってきます。

Although it was rainy season, it became a blue sky, and it is raising the ridgepole safely. "Spiritual Retreat Cabin" is changing from two-dimensional to three-dimensional.

The owner couple was overseas, but with emails and Skype, they can feel the progress of the site in real time. we do not feel the distance, excitement is transmitted.

埋め戻しも完了し残すは土間コンクリートの打設となりました。来週の建て方に向けて基礎工事も終盤を迎えています。
仕事の合間を縫って今回はご主人ひとりで現地の視察に。心待ちにしていた更紗満点星の花が満開です。木陰をつくってくれている木の下の空中デッキで加藤と打ち合わせしながらさっそくスカイプ繋いで海外にいる奥さまと感動の共有です。

その地の自然と共にある建築。当初からのコンセプトが少しづつ形になっていきます。

建主ご夫妻が楽しみにしていた富士山へ張り出す空中デッキ。基礎の立上り部と共にデッキ部も打設をして丁寧に金コテ押さえをしています。心のこもった丁寧な仕事。

しっかり養生期間をとった後にいよいよ基礎の全容が見えてきます。ワクワクの瞬間がもうすぐ。

Aerial deck where you can see Mt. Fuji which the owner couple were looking forward very much. we also cast the deck part along with the rising part of the foundation and carefully hold it with iron. It is sincerity, careful work.
After taking a good curing period, we can see the whole body of the foundation finally . The exciting moment is coming soon.

基礎工事も佳境に入っておりご夫妻に現場にお越しいただきました。完成すれば見えなくなってしまうが礎となるとても重要な部分。見えないものが安全・快適を支えています。

Foundation work also entered the final stage. The owner couple came to the construction site. The foundation becomes invisible once the building is completed, but it is a very important part to become the foundation. Things invisible support safety and comfort.
Mr.Kato shows the position of the aerial deck in front of which Mt. Fuji can be seen.
The distance feeling with Sarasa Doudan which is also the main of the landscape. It is an exquisite position as intended by the design.

巨石は４つほど。
無事に床掘りも終わり根伐り底の確認、砕石敷き、転圧と基礎工事も順調に進んでいます。




急傾斜地に沿わせた設計。圧巻の基礎がまもなくお目見えします。

There were four megaliths.
The foundation digging is over, confirmation of the root-cutting bottom, crushing bed laying, rolling and foundation work are proceeding smoothly.

村内行為の承認通知もおりGW中に工事届けを提出。いよいよ基礎工事着手です。
地表にちょっと顔を覗かせている巨石もちらほら。氷山のように見えない土の下の方が大きいことが多々あり工事の段取り替えが必要になることもあるのです。

コンマ４（ショベルバケットのサイズ）ユンボーを用意し車路を邪魔していた巨石を掘り出して建物の位置出し。

他の巨石も同程度であることを願うばかり。週明けには基礎工事の工程も見えてくることでしょう。

We submit a construction report during GW, and we are finally undergoing construction work.
There are some megalithes on the ground. As the stone is large like the iceberg under the soil, there are times when you need to change the construction.

We prepare a excavator, dig up the megalithes that had been disturbing the car road, and position the building.
We just hope that other megaliths will be about the same degree. The process of foundation construction will be visible at the beginning of the week.

普段はアメリカで暮らすご夫妻ですがもちろんBorn in Japan！
地鎮祭というものにこだわりました。
標高１６００ｍの現場に私たちよりも先に到着した宮司さん。
ナビ役の奥様と登ってきてくださいました。

私が朝採りしてきた竹を四方に建てて皆で準備開始です。
腰が抜けるほど重い砂のケースを加藤建築士とオーナーが運ぼうとしています。
「あぁ、やめてください、加藤は特別体が強いんです」
静止も聞かず運んでいただきました。
「ハウスメーカーの地鎮祭はやりたくないんですよ。だって一業者扱いなんですよ！」
本当に気さくな宮司さんです。

この敷地は、王様の更紗満天星（さらさどうだんつつじ）をはじめ、
こなし、ダケカンバ、コメツガ、もみじ等々亜高山帯植生が魅力的です。
そんな樹々たちにも「これから始めます！」とあいさつができました。

現地での地縄確認も終わり草刈りや枯れ枝の剪定など事前準備に入っています。敷地一面を覆っていたクマザザも綺麗にカットするとご覧の通り、更紗満天星の立ち姿がよく見えます。



現場での準備と並行して村との事前協議、管理事務所への届け出など事務手続きも大事なことです。月末の地鎮祭＆図面読み合わせに向けて図面作業も急ピッチです。

After confirming the locality at the site, preparations such as grass cutting and pruning of dead branches are in preparation. When we cut mackerel which had covered the entire site, you can see the appearance of the Sarasa Mantenboshi well.
Administrative procedures such as preliminary consultation with the village and reporting to the management office are important as well as preparation on site. At the end of the month,there is a ceremony of sanctifying ground and confirmation of drawings.

セッションを重ねて基本設計もまとまりました。　4月の工事着手に向けて本日は現地で建物配置の確認です。　バルコニーへと繋がるファイアーコートからは炎とセットになった更紗満点星と富士が臨めます。

斜面には林床植物の中でも繁殖力の強い笹が一面に広がり年に1〜２度刈り込むことであまり背丈が伸びずに土壌乾燥・侵食を防ぐ役割も担ってくれます。ご夫妻の目にはこの風景の中にある建物もしっかり見えているようです。

Overlaying sessions, the basic design got together. Toward the start of construction in April, we are checking the location of the building today on the site. From the fire coat leading to the balcony you can see the flame and Mt.Fuji.

Bamboo that has strong reproductive power spreads all over the forest floor plants on the slope. By cutting it 1 to 2 times a year, it will not stretch too much to prevent soil drying and erosion. The Owner's couple seems to be able to see the building inside this scenery well.

ご夫婦の考える家のイメージがこんな素敵なボードで送られてきました。
お二人でたくさんの対話を重ね、
目指す形をより具体的にイメージしていくプロセスをとても楽しんでくださっているようです。

どうやらそこにはいつも、当初からのコンセプトがゆらぐことなく流れています。
"Spiritual Retreat" ＝余計なものはいらなく、精神をリセットする場所であること。
質素のように見えながらも、とても高い感性が感じられる空間が理想であること。

シンプルこそ美しさと質を問われます。

We got the image board of their house.
They enjoy the process of imaging the ideal house very much.

There always is a concept from the beginning.
"Spiritual Retreat" = they do not need any extra things, it is a place to reset the spirit.
There is a space where you can feel a very high sensitivity while looking like frugality.
Simple is questioned about quality and beauty.

韮崎で４ＷＤレンタカーを借りて、うずまきスタジオにおいでいただきました。
スタジオ周辺はまだ雪はありませんがこの後敷地まで赴くのだそうです。
今日は初回案のプレゼンテーションです。
ご主人だけ？
奥様は海の向こうにいてスカイプで参加です。

遠景と空をふんだんに取り込み、さらさどうだんに寄り添って建つ、
家具のようにコンパクトな家。
そんなコンセプトで案をつくりました。

担当する建築家フェローは加藤実です。
中村と協働します。

The owner borrowed a 4WD rent-a-car at Nirasaki and got it at Uzumaki studio.
There is not snow around the studio yet, but he goes to the premises after this.
Today is the first presentation.
But,only husband?
His wife joins us by Skype from oversea.

They really want a good view and a big sky.
Close to Sarasadoudan .
Compact like furniture.
We made a plan with such a concept.

The architect Fellow in charge is Mr. Minoru Kato.
He will work with Nakamura.

ダンボールで計画地を簡易に作ってみました。
平均２０度もある急傾斜地です。
そこに塊として切り出したスタイロフォームの模型を置いてみます。
これを『ボリューム出し』と業界では呼んでいますが、
私たち設計者がまず最初のアウトラインを掴むための発想の補助としてよく使う手です。
私が最初に作ったのはこんな感じの模型ですが、
斜面に対して反対にも置いてみて眺めながら発想が膨らんでいきます。

人の住む自然エリアではこの国では最高地点なのではないでしょうか。
調査に訪れたのは11月末でしたが道も赤岳ももう白くなっていました。
オーナーは2地域居住として四季を通じてこの家に住みます。

加藤フェロー、細田とともに都内にヒヤリングに出かけました。
寒さは大丈夫なんでしょうか？
「釧路の極寒を体験しています。息子はスケート選手だったんです。」
特に心配はしていないようです。
「今の住まいの地域は寒いし雪もあります。でも行政の除雪が徹底しているので
　スタッドレス不要なんです。」
そういうもんなんですね。
「コヨーテとか時々出没してそんな時は気を付けます。」
あぁ、ここには熊も狼もいませんので安心です。

ファッショナブルなご夫妻ですがどうやらとても強いのだとわかりました。
この敷地は約束の地だったのでしょう。

The owner live in this house through the four seasons as two region residents.

Mr.Kato and Mr.Hosoda and I went for a hearing in Tokyo.

"I have experienced the cold in Kushiro, my son was a skate player."
They do not seem to worry in particular.

It is a fashionable couple, but apparently it is very strong.
This site was probably the promised land.

We are preparing the first presentation draft after a while.

海外にお住まいのご夫妻から日本での家づくりの依頼を受けました。
家づくりのコンセプトは、Spiritual Retreatを感じさせ、余計なものがない、精神をリセットする場所となること。ここ日本の自然豊かな八ヶ岳で、禅のような空間を作りたいと。

場所は１７００ｍにある八ヶ岳の裾野にある素晴らしい別荘地です。その敷地の真ん中にかなりの樹齢と思われる立派なサラサドウダンツツジがあります。

さて、サラサドウダンツツジを漢字にすると・・・。
更紗満天星。
こうなります。
「更紗満天星の家」なんて素敵な響き！

淡いピンク色で小さな花の咲くサラサドウダンツツジを眺めながら、満天の星を眺め、時間の流れが止まるような素晴しいSpiritual Retreat Cabinができることでしょう。

We received a request from a married couple abroad to build a house in Japan.
The concept of house making is to make Spiritual Retreat feel, there is no extra thing, a place to reset the spirit.
We want to make Zen-like space here in Yatsugatake, Japan's rich natural environment.
The place is a wonderful villa located in the base of Yatsugatake at 1,700 m.
In the middle of the site there is a wonderful Salasadodan Tsutsuji that seems to be very old.

When we convert Salasadoudann tsutsuji to kanji ... .
Salasa sky full of stars. It will be like this.
"Salasa sky full of stars house" What a beautiful name!
While watching the small flower blooming Salasadoudan tsutsuji with a pale pink color, you will be able to enjoy a star filled sky and create a splendid Spiritual Retreat Cabin that will stop the flow of time.
